Thanks to everyone for the great response we have received. We are now very close to our desired number of members and as such, are scaling back on active recruitment. We want to continue to ensure we give all our members a decent number of raid spots.
Current requirements:
Tanks: Full
Melee DPS: Full
Ranged DPS: Full
Healers: Full
Exceptional applicants may be considered - please read the below then contact us in game.
Current focus is 2 x 25man raids per week.
Official Guild Raids
Friday 25man 8pm-11/12pm
Saturday 25man 8pm-11/12pm
--------------------------------------------------
The preservation of a friendly and pleasant environment is at the absolute top of of our priority list. We are not a hardcore raiding guild (we have 2 "official" guild raids per week), however we are a progression guild and aim to achieve certain goals in the time we have available. Our guild culture is extremely important to us, and is much more important than loot or excessive raiding.
Guild Etiquette
This is very important to us and goes right to the heart of what kind of guild we wish to be.
1. Racist, Sexist or Homophobic comments are not welcome. This also applies to the ubiquitous "it's gay" insult. Seriously it's not even an insult and using it as such can be offensive to those of us that are either gay or have gay friends.
2. Keep it PG rated. If you're typing in open game channels (guild, raid, general, trade) or speaking in populated vent channels (with people you don't really know) keep it PG rated. You're an ambassador for your guild, what you say and do reflects back on us for better or worse.
Moderating your language and content is a demonstration of maturity. We can all swear with the worst, however choose to moderate our language based on the audience. In our view this demonstrates respect for our audience.
If you're not sure, don't say/type it. Worth special mention is the use of the word "rape" to describe an in-game event. Many people consider this to be an offensive trivialisation of an appalling crime.
3. Keep politics and religion out of guild. Complex ideas cannot be conveyed in single sentences and often serve simply to create division.
Raid Etiquette
Following these guidelines will help our raids progress more smoothly and reduce stress on our Raid Leaders (there's a lot going on for them!).
1. Support our Raid Leaders. I think we all agree our Raid Leaders do a great job. While suggestions can be helpful at times, there is a fine line between making suggestions and back-seat driving. Use discretion.
2. When we're on boss fights put on your game face. While we try to keep trash relaxed, on boss fights we want focus. Other than the Raid Leader or relaying fight specific information keep the talk to a minimum. Likewise, while loot is being distributed let's try and do the same. For the rest of the time, chat it up.
3. Manage your AFK's. There's 24 other people in raid. While we understand that people have real life demands, try to avoid AFK's during boss fights (including the preparation phase). If necessary, take your AFK's on trash and put yourself on auto-follow (within reason of course). If you really can't give the raid the attention it requires, ask the Raid Leader to sub you out. We want to keep our raids moving.
4. Try to minimise /whispers to Raid Leaders before and during raids. Your raid leaders are pretty busy before and during raids. Add a few /whisper conversations and it's hard to keep things moving. Once again, use discretion.
5. Sign up as early as possible. If you know you will get to a raid, sign up early (but only if you are sure). If things change and you can't make it, change your calendar status or tell an Officer/Raid Leader. Invite preferences will generally go to those that signed the previous day or earlier and are on time. Invites will go out 10 minutes prior to the raid start time to ensure there is adequate time to form a balanced group(s). If you are running late, be prepared to be on reserve.
6. Don't QQ about loot. We've been playing for over 4 years and everything gets replaced. You'll get the loot you need to do your job over time. Sometimes you'll be lucky and your guildies will celebrate with you. Sometimes others will get lucky and you should celebrate with them. Epics will come to all of us.
Guild Bank
The Guild bank offers the following to all raiders for free.
- Enchanting mats to put enchants on any PvE gear upgrades (when available).
- Raw gems to have cut into appropriate gems for your PvE gear upgrades (when available).
- All flasks (please keep a stack of 20 on you at all times).
- Discounts on any other materials in the bank that you may require for your tradeskills.
- Assistance with resistance gear if / when required.
- Unlimited access to TAB 1 - feel free to help yourself.
Please request any mats you require from other tabs from an Officer. We will be more than happy to assist.
Before applying - here are some questions you may wish to ask yourself to determine if <ten> is the guild for you?
Are you level 80?
We're only considering level 80 applications (exceptions only made for family of current guildies).
Are you happy to be in a guild that will beat all content in due course, but is likely to be in the middle of the pack, not at the front?
Our raiding pace is not fast enough to be at the cutting edge of progression. We are happy with this, however if this is not where you wish to be, we are not the guild for you.
Is gear simply a means to progress your guild and yourself through content?
We are not interested in the admin associated with a DKP system and use a simple /roll with main-spec priority and per-run loot balancing. Gear will come with beating content, we don't feel the need to stress over it. Nobody gets special preference outside of the standard loot rules.
Do you enjoy helping your guildmates improve their gear?
If an epic drops that is a very small upgrade for you, but a huge upgrade for a guildie, what would you do? Nobody will check up on you or tell you to pass, it is entirely up to you. We are however trying to encourage a generous guild culture.
Can you handle wiping multiple times on challenging content with good grace?
Content can be hard and take a lot of practice to get perfect. We want people with the tenacity to stick at it until we master the fight. No /ragequitters or /dummyspitters please.
Can you collaborate with and learn from your guildmates? Are you constructive with your feedback and willing to learn from the feedback of others?
I do not believe any of us are so good we can't learn from others. Likewise if you are giving feedback your motive should be to help your guildie get better, not put them down.
Are you quietly confident in your abilities?
Be proud of what you have achieved. Don't put others down and strive to improve yourself.
Do you accept that you will almost certainly get benched for some of the raids?
There are a bunch of factors the raid leaders will consider when they form raids. Do we have the required roles covered (raid leader, tanks, healers, DPS)? Is the content new or farm. Do we have enough geared veterans to make the raid painless while gearing 1-2 newer members? While we try to be fair, we also expect people to be reasonably flexible.
Do you appreciate being treated like a reasonable and responsible adult (regardless of your age)?
I'm not your Mum. Come to raids prepared. Know your class. Take constructive criticism as an opportunity to improve. Understand if we sit you out to stack a raid for harder content it's not personal.
Our Raid leaders are professional, they know the fights, they put in 100%, they won't shout or swear at you. If you do the same our raids will be efficient and fun.
Do you make an ongoing effort to improve your skill and knowledge at playing your class?
We have some very high quality players already. Emulate them, learn from them, become one of them.
Are you reliable?
We don't have a required raid attendance quota. However we do expect people to show up if they signed up and support official guild activities if they are online.
Is WoW fun for you?
It's a game. If it's not fun you shouldn't play.
Interested?
Talk to Guard or Lozza in the first instance. If you seem suitable we'll schedule an interview over ventrillo.
Good gaming from Guard, Lozza and <ten>
